✦ Entanglegraph

A term and form coined by Carolyn DiFiori Hopkins

Entanglegraph is a word I created to describe a distinctive form of layered image-making that blends painting, drawing, and digital compositing. These works are neither traditional collage nor pure painting, but hybrid visual fields—marks of experience, time, and embodied memory.

Each Entanglegraph is composed through a process of slow layering: botanical fragments, gestural lines, figures, artifacts, and atmosphere—all woven into a unified visual structure. The process invites imperfection, tension, and symbolic resonance.

I coined the term in 2025 to define this approach as something more than mixed media—it’s a conceptual practice rooted in entanglement: with land, with the body, with history, with the act of making itself.

I retain authorship of the word and its use as an artistic form. Please cite accordingly.
